LEGAL · COOKIES

Cookies and similar technologies.

Last updated: 29 April 2026 Effective: 29 April 2026

Scope: This document describes cookies and similar technologies used on the capila.io website. The processing of personal data when we provide accounting, payroll, and tax services is governed separately — see Privacy Policy.

The capila.io website uses cookies and similar technologies that help us ensure the site works, measure traffic, and offer features such as call booking and embedded videos. We do not use third-party marketing or advertising cookies. Processing follows Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data, and Section 109 of Act No. 452/2021 Coll. on Electronic Communications.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that the website stores on your device (computer, mobile, tablet) when you visit it. On a return visit, the website uses them to "remember" certain information — for example, language, login state, or the consent you've given. Some cookies are essential for the website to work; others are optional and we use them only with your consent.

In addition to cookies, we use similar technologies in selected places — in particular browser local storage (localStorage, sessionStorage) and pixels in embedded videos or maps. The same rules apply to them.

2. Who is the controller

The controller is:

Capila, s. r. o., Bottova 2/A, 811 09 Bratislava — Staré Mesto ID No.: 54 649 447, Tax No.: 2121756725, VAT No.: SK2121756725 Registration: Commercial Register of the Bratislava III City Court, Sro, file no. 161568/B Contact: info@capila.io, +421 908 191 865

In some cases (analytics and functional third-party cookies), we act as a joint controller with the tool provider, or the relevant third party provides services to us as a processor under Article 28 GDPR. The specific relationship for each tool is shown in the table in section 4.

3. Categories of cookies we use

Necessary cookies are required for the basic operation of the website — storing your consent choice, security, prevention of misuse. Without them, the website does not work properly. They cannot be turned off. Legal basis: Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll. (exemption from consent requirement) and legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the website — which pages they read, where they leave, what works and what doesn't. We use the data in anonymised or aggregated form. Legal basis: consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 109(8) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll.

Functional cookies enable extended website features — booking a call via Calendly, playing embedded YouTube videos, or showing the office address via Google Maps. Without these cookies the relevant feature won't work. Legal basis: consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Marketing and advertising cookies are not used on capila.io. No Google Ads, no Facebook Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no retargeting, no other third-party advertising tools.

4. Specific list of cookies

The table lists categories of cookies that may be set on the website. Durations may vary slightly depending on the tool version and user behaviour. The current state is always shown in the cookie banner on first visit and in the "Cookie settings" panel in the footer.

Necessary

Analytics (require consent)

Functional (require consent)

Note: Calendly, YouTube, and Google Maps load as embeds. Cookies are set in your browser only after your consent and after the relevant section loads (e.g. after clicking "Load map" or opening the widget).

5. Cookie banner and settings

On your first visit, a cookie banner appears with three equal options:

  • Accept all — you give consent for all categories (necessary, analytics, functional).
  • Necessary only — only necessary cookies are set; analytics and functional widgets do not run.
  • Custom settings — you choose individually which categories to allow.

Consent is freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous under Art. 4(11) and Art. 7 GDPR. Refusing cookies has the same weight as accepting — the "Necessary only" button is equivalent to "Accept all" (no dark patterns).

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the "Cookie settings" button in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

You can also manage cookies directly in your browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and site data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage website data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Disabling all cookies in your browser may limit website functionality (for example, call booking may not work).

6. Transfers to third countries

Some tools listed in the table in section 4 (Google Analytics, Calendly, Postmark, YouTube, Google Maps) may transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area — primarily to the United States. We safeguard these transfers with:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR; or
  • transfers to entities certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795 of 10 July 2023) under Art. 45 GDPR.

We will provide the current certification status of each provider on request at info@capila.io.

7. Consent retention periods

8. Your rights

In relation to personal data processed via cookies, you have all the rights set out in GDPR and Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. — in particular the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. They are described in detail on the Privacy Policy page, section 8.

If you believe we are processing your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority:

Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27 www.dataprotection.gov.sk

9. Changes to this page

We update this document whenever we add or remove a tool that uses cookies, or when legal requirements change. The latest update is shown in the header. For material changes (for example, adding a new tool with transfers to a third country), the cookie banner reappears and we ask for fresh consent.
